Healing ARTS (Addressing Real Traumas and Solutions) Circulos |
Community Building Circulos |
ARTS Circulos combine talking circles with liberatory art exercises. With a talking circle, we facilitate a safe and open space for sharing our struggles and critiquing systems of violence. Afterwards, we engage in art that explores possibilities for transformative healing and social justice. Circulos result in a community based art project and can be used as a focus group which produces data that informs BAY-Peace’s community organizing efforts.
|
Community Building Circulos use interactive exercises and critical dialogue as tools for building stronger solidarity and understanding among participants. Using modalities such as Theater of the Oppressed, Spoken Word and Movement, participants practice acting, speaking and moving in ways that contribute positively to the collective.
