Youth Leader - Apply by Sept 13, 2024
The Youth Leader will work closely with BAY-Peace staff to co-lead the Youth ARTS Company program and their showcase at the Multicultural Art & Wellness Jamboree. 

​Responsibilities


  • Act as peer leader and co-facilitator within the weekly Youth ARTS Company Sessions
  • Attend Weekly Program planning meeting
  • Collaborate with staff and program participants to develop and produce a Community Based Art project using participatory action research methods
  • Design, modify and/or assist with Facilitating wellness education, political education and arts based workshops
  • Support with the production and showcase of the Community Based Art Project at the MultiCultural Art & Wellness Jamboree in May 2025
  • Support staff with Outreach, communications & coordinating logistics to host the Jamboree showcase to occur in May 2025
  • Communicate with other BAY-Peace youth to coordinate their participation
 
Requirements:


  • Age 16-21
  • 1 year of experience with leadership, facilitation and/or community organizing
  • demonstrated commitment to performing arts (Spoken word, Theater/Acting, Music, Dance, etc.)
  • Computer, speaking and writing skills with ability to use Google Apps 
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and nights
  • Ability to respond promptly to calls, texts and emails

Compensation: Employee status $20/hr. Up to 10 hrs/wk from Sept 2024 - May 2025
